Elizabeth Taylor, now a wheelchair user, honored for her HIV/AIDS charity work

I know the tabloids are writing about Elizabeth Taylor to sensationalize the fact that she now uses a wheelchair, but I think she looks beautiful. It's a wonderful message to the world about disability as "just a part of life" that the legendary star is out and about and living her life now as a wheelchair user.

This picture from The Daily Mail in the UK shows Taylor arriving Sept. 25 to be honored at the Macy's Passport 2008 Gala, which raises funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS organisations. "Celebrities praised the 76-year-old for her legendary career and tireless commitment to the cause," The Daily Mail reported.

"Elizabeth is a hero - she is an iconic artist, designer, and entrepreneur," actress Kathy Ireland told "Entertainment Tonight." "She is a mentor, and she is loved by not only me, but people all over the world."
